Szczęsny Paweł

He was born on 21st May, 1963, in the town of Czerników located not far away from Toruń. He is a theatre and film actor, as well as a voice-over actor.

In 1986, he graduated from the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. Three years earlier, in 1983, he made his début on a theatre stage, in the play ‘Kariera Alfa Omegi’ written by Marian Hemar and Julian Tuwim and directed by Tadeusz Łomnicki. In the years 1986-1992, he worked for the Contemporary Theatre in Warsaw. After that, he spent four years (1992-1996) performing on stage of Nowy Teatr in Warsaw. He was case in plays staged at Teatr Rozmaitości in Warsaw and Mazowiecki Teatr Muzyczny ‘Operetka’ (a Music Theatre).

Paweł Szczesny’s professional portfolio includes numerous roles in films and television productions. In 1986, he portrayed one of the trusted people of ‘Mr Andrzej’ in the television series ‘Zmiennicy / Subs’ directed by Stanisław Bareja. A year later, in 1987, he was featured in the cult television production ‘07 zgłoś się’. In 1991, he played in the TV series ‘Panny i wdowy / Maidens and Widows’ directed by Janusz Zaorski. In 1992, he was cast in the film ‘Pierścionek z orłem w koronie / The Crowned-Eagle Ring’ directed by Andrzej Wajda, in which he partnered up with Adrianna Biedrzyńska, Piotr Rzymyszkiewicz and Aleksander Wysocki, all of who also have connections with this region. In 1996, he played alongside Robert Janowski (a native of Inowrocław) in the film ‘Nocne graffiti’ directed by Maciej Dutkiewicz. After that, he was cast in such film productions as ‘Operacja Koza / Operation Goat’ (1999) directed by Konrad Szołajski, ‘Tam i z powrotem / There and Back’ (2001) directed by Wojciech Wójcik, ‘Symetria / Symmetry’(2003) directed by Konrad Niewolski, or in ‘Generał Nil / General Nil’ directed by Robert Wist. He also played in many popular television productions, such as ‘Ekstradycja / Extradition’ (1995), ‘Złotopolscy’ (1999), ‘Wiedźmin / The Hexer’ (2001), in many episodes of the TV series ‘M jak miłość’, ‘Leśniczówka’ (2011), in the comedy ‘Listy do M. 3 / Letters to Santa’ (2017), the TV series ‘Stulecie winnych’ (2020) or ‘Na Wspólnej’ (in the years 2003-2021).

Paweł Szczesny is also a popular voice-over actor, who has given his voice to countless characters in television and cinema productions, including films for children, over the years. You can hear his voice spoken by the characters featured in ‘The Flintstones’, ‘Scooby Doo’, ‘Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears’, ‘Tytus, Romek i A’Tomek wśród złodziei marzeń’, ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, or in ‘Spy Kids’.

In the years 1987-1997, the actor performed in Teatr Telewizji (Television Theatre). You can also hear his voice in radio dramas broadcast on the Polish Radio Theatre.
