Felczykowski Jarosław

Jarosław Felczykowski was born in 1963 in Toruń, where he attended High School No. 3. He graduated from the Puppet Theatre Acting School in Będzin.

Since the beginning of his stage career in 1986 he has been connected with the Wilam Horzyca Theatre in Toruń.

In films we could see him in Dublerzy (The Doubles) by Marcin Ziębiński (2006), and in Lekarze (Doctors), the TV series filmed in Toruń and directed by Marcin Wrona (2013). Moreover, he has appeared in two independent movies by directors from Toruń – Panoptikon by Marcin Gładych and Caissa by Marcel Woźniak (both in 2011).

Felczykowski has created numerous unique characters. The most-notable include Kazio Mazurkiewicz in Żołnierz królowej Madagaskaru (The Soldier of the Queen of Madagascar), directed by Piotr Cieplak in 1990, Wacław in Zemsta (The Revenge) by Aleksander Fredro, directed by Krystyna Meissner in 1994, Czepiec and Rycerz Czarny in Wesele (The Wedding) by Stanisław Wyspiański, directed by Krystyna Meissner in 1996, Podkolesin in Ożenek (Marriage) by Mikołaj Gogol, directed by Marek Fiedor in 1997, Helmucik in Helmucik by Ingmar Villqist, directed by Paweł Łysak in 2002, Jermołaj Łopachin in Wiśniowy Sad (The Cherry Orchard) by Anton Chekhov, directed by Andrzej Bubień in 2004, Ja (I) based on Iwan Wyrypajew’s writing, directed by Wiktor Ryżakow in 2005, and Leon Węgorzewski/Edgar Wałpor in Śnieg (Snow) by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, directed by Grzegorz Wiśniewski in 2009.

Felczykowski’s range of activities is very broad. Apart from his artistic career, he is the author of multiple plays and songs for children. He has also had his own radio programme on Radio GRA in Toruń, and between 2002 and 2009 he directed and held Nicolaus Copernicus University’s charity concerts Koncerty Uniwersyteckie for the children’s welfare home in Grabie.

His work and talent have been recognised both by critics and audiences on numerous occasions, which is reflected by the number of awards he has received.
