Magdalena Dandourian is a film actress, producer, director, and also writes scripts for TV productions. She was born on 12th October 1971, in Grudziądz. There, she graduated from the Bolesław Chrobry secondary school No. 1. She is a graduate of the SPOT School of Drama in Cracow.
Her acting début came with the role of Niusia Horowitz in Steven Spielberg’s drama Schindler’s List, in 1993. In the epic war drama, we see the story of Oskar Schindler, a German entrepreneur, who managed to save 1,100 Jews from a death camp, during the Second World War. In the film, Magdalena Dandourian played alongside such acting giants as Liam Neeson or Ralph Fiennes.
One year later, she was cast for Psy II: Ostatnia Krew by Władysław Pasikowski. She played Nadia, a girl brought to Poland from the former Yugoslavia by Wolf (Artur Żmijewski), a mercenary, as a war trophy. The film also starred Cezary Pazura and Bogusław Linda.
The actress also played in the moral drama Cudowne miejsce / Miraculous Place (1995), where she played “Młódka”. The film focused follows the life of a young priest, who assumes the position of a parish priest, in a small village.
In 2002, Magdalena Dandourian directed a documentary film Pamięć o Enigmie, which was a record of the ceremony held in Great Britain, commemorating the Polish scientists that cracked the Enigma code in 1932.
Today, Magdalena Dandourian is the editor-in-chief of the Life and More magazine. She is also involved in producing television shows.
