Woźniak Marcel

He was born on 7th June 1984, in Kwidzyn. He is a writer and screenwriter, and a short film director. He has also worked for many years as a journalist and reporter.

In 2017, he graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Humanities (Polish Studies) of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, and just one year earlier, in 2016, he had completed a course in film adaptation at the Warsaw Film School.

Marcel Woźnik is a television screenwriter and author of two short films, namely ‘Caissa’ (2012) and ‘Snufit’ (2015), and also an author of detective radio dramas titled ‘Toruński Łącznik’ (it was broadcast on Radio Plus Toruń) and ‘Legenda Dziwnego Mista’ (broadcast on Radio Sfera). He wrote a biography about the Polish writer Leopold Tyrmand. Published in 2016, the book titled ‘Biografia Leopolda Tyrmanda. Moja śmierć będzie taka jak moje życie’ (‘A biography of Leopold Tyrmand. My death will be like my life’) was very well received with both critics and readers. In recognition of the book, Marcel Woźniak received a Book of the Month Award given by ‘Magazyn Literacki KSIĄŻKI’ (a monthly magazine about literature).

Marcel Woźniak is also an author of a series of books about Leon Brodzki, a retired private detective. To this date, he has published three parts: Powtórka (‘Replay’, 2017), Mgnienie (‘Glimpse’, 2017), and Otchłań (‘Abyss’, 2018).
