Kalinowski Aleksander

He was born on 23rd April 1953, in Lipno, which was also the birthplace of Poli Negri. He is a theatre and film actor.

In 1978, he graduated from the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. In October 1978, he made his theatre début. In the same year, Aleksander Kalinowski took up a job at the National Theatre in Warsaw, where he continued to perform, until 1984, for example in a number of plays directed by Adam Hanuszkiewicz, such as the dramas ,,Dziady część III Ustęp” (1978) and ,,Pan Tadeusz”(1982) written by Adam Mickiewicz, and in ,,Śpiewnik domowy” written by Stanisław Moniuszko. In the years 1984-1990, he performed on stage of the Zygmunt Hübner Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw, and then went on to work at Nowy Teatr in Warsaw (in the years 1990-1994).

Aleksander Kalinowski is known for his many film roles. He was starred in the drama ,,Akcja pod Arsenałem” / “Action By The Arsenal” (1997) and in TV series ,,Dom” (1980), both directed by Jan Łomnicki, in the cult comedy ,,C.K. Dezerterzy” / “H.M. Deserters” (1985) directed by Janusz Majewski, in ,,Zmiennicy” / “Subs” (1986) directed by Stanisław Bareja, in ,,Męskie Sprawy” / “Men’s Business” (1988) directed by Jan Kidawa Błoński, and in ,,Sztuka Kochania” /” The Art of Love” (1989) directed by Jacek Bromski. In 1994, he played alongside Halina Słojewska in the Polish-British series ,,Molly” dedicated to young audience.

That was not the only time he appeared in a TV series, as we can also see him in a number of other television productions, such as ,,Kryminalni” (2005) ,,Na dobre i na złe” (2009), ,,Czas honoru” (2012), or in ,,Prawo Agaty” (2014) filmed in Bydgoszcz.
